Welcome to Outré—the World of UltraMedia!

You have entered the zone of Fun and Fascination. Don't think for a minute that we're doing a "nostalgia" thing here—but we remember when Pop Culture was more than just cheap thrills. Here at Outré we try to preserve the great stuff from the last half of the 20th century, and show what about it's relevant to today, and tomorrow. We don't want to go back to the horse-and-buggy days, but we wouldn't mind a new, high-tech car that happens to have tail fins and some chrome.

In every issue of Outré magazine, you'll find Fun from the realms of movies, TV, screen pin-ups, and comics...and Fascination from the worlds of science fiction, art, and futurism. Here on the web, we'll feature highlights from past and current issues, and soon, new features exclusive to this site.

On the stands now, Outré #19 presents Barbara Eden (I Dream of Jeannie), noted SF author Frank M. Robinson, Ray Bradbury illustrator Joseph Mugnaini, '60s TV icon Soupy Sales, a look back at Marx Playsets, and lots more. Coming up in issue #20 will be futurist/artist Syd Mead, more from Frank Robinson, Van Williams and Bruce Lee (The Green Hornet), Russian sci-fi of the '60s, and more features and reviews of the latest releases on video, CDs, and books. In the past we've featured such world famous writers as Ray Bradbury, Harlan Ellison, and William F. Nolan; artists including Wally Wood, Neal Adams, Vincent Di Fate, Ivan Albright, and Chesley Bonestell; and personalities such as Mickey Spillane, Bettie Page, and Ed Wood, Jr.; and other topics including the origin of Paint-by-Numbers and a trip down Route 66. Waiting in the wings for future issues are William F. Nolan of Charles Beaumont and Ray Bradbury, artist Robert McCall (2001), French cult singing sensation Mylene Farmer, and a look back at the TV career of Groucho Marx. So crank-up your modem, settle back with some refreshments, and enter The World of UltraMedia!
